We are in October, ladies and gentlemen. And that means…PUMPKIN CARVING SEASON. We don’t know about you but we like to get a head start on our pumpkin carving so they can be displayed all the way until Halloween.
If you’re looking to get creative this year, here are a few ideas for some out-of-the-box pumpkins to spice things up this season.
A Family of Pumpkins
Now here’s a way to get really creative and bring your whole family into the pumpkin carving extravaganza. Each person can carve a pumpkin that represents themselves. Maybe you add some pipe-cleaner glasses or dad’s swoopy mustache to the mix.
Peek-A-Boo Pumpkin
Get a large pumpkin, cut off it’s top and make space for the little pumpkin to go inside. This is a fun idea if you want to try something a little different and also have a few pumpkins to work with.
Lion Pumpkin
This pumpkin creation takes a little more commitment and a serious dedication to Halloween. But if you can pull it off, everyone at your Halloween party will marvel at what you’ve done.
Glass Bead Pumpkin
If you’re looking for something a little softer, a little more subtle, and to create some classy Halloween vibes, this might be the pumpkin route for you. Find some smaller pumpkins, create several holes and add glass beads before putting in your candle.
The Emoji Pumpkin
Okay, who doesn’t LOVE emojis? They’re so much fun. So why not get the paints out and create some of your favorite text-amplifying characters?
Skull Pumpkin
Okay, so this one actually requires butternut squashes, not pumpkins, but they embody the Halloween spirit nonetheless. Get some radishes for eyes and a few toothpicks and you’ve got yourself a seriously fun project.
Geometric Pumpkin
Another modern, clean and elegant pumpkin idea, this one is less scary and more inviting. It’s also an easy way to create an excellent holiday vibe.
Sweet Tooth Pumpkin
If you want to be the gingerbread house spin on your Halloween, this is the pumpkin idea for you. It’s somehow both frightening and inviting. Just make sure to keep it out of reach of your kiddos!
Vampire Pumpkin
A more elaborate idea, this is a great pumpkin to put out on your front porch for the trick-or-treaters. Maybe even in your bowl of candy? Requires two pumpkins and some construction paper.
Mummy Pumpkin
Okay, this one might be our favorite. Simple to execute but the impact is far from underwhelming. If you can find a white pumpkin, it will make the mummy look all the more impactful.
